Tour Plan

Day 1:Arrive Srinagar (D)

After breakfast, transfer to domestic airport to catch flight for Srinagar, met upon arrival and transfer to Deluxe Houseboat. After lunch sightseeing of Mughal Gardens visiting Nishat Bagh (Abode of pleasure) built by Asif Khan brother in law of Jehangir in 1632 AD. And Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love) built by Jehangir for his wife Empress Noor Jehan. All the gardens are situated on the bank of Dal Lake with the Zabarwan Mountains in the background. The distance from Srinagar to the said gardens is about 12 and 15 kms respectively. Enroute visit carpet-weaving factory. Dinner overnight in hotel.

Day 2: Srinagar/Gulmarg/Srinagar (B D)

After breakfast drive to Gulmarg (Meadow Of Flowers) 2730 Mts. Above sea level. The distance of 65 kms will be covered in about 1.5 hrs. Gulmarg has one of the best Ski slopes in the world and the highest golf course of the world with 18 holes. One can also have the view of Nanga Parbhat if weather permits. The view Enroute from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating. One can also have a short trek upto Khilangmarg which can be covered in about 3 hrs. Lunch in Gulmarg Return to Srinagar late evening.Dinner overnight Hotel

Day 3:Srinagar/Sonamarg/Kargil (B D)

After very early breakfast drive to Sonamarg via Sonawari, Wayel, Manigam and then to Kargil over Zoji’la (3530 Mts), Drass (Second coldest inhabited place in the world), Kharbu etc, distance of about 204 kms will be covered in about 08 hrs. Packed Lunch will be carried from Houseboats Dinner overnight hotel

Day 4: In Kargil ( BD)

After breakfast drive to Suru Valley which is 60 kms drive/2-3 hrs. Suru Valley is a beautiful destination with green land scape and dense plantation and is also the base for four days trek to Shargole via Rusilla and Sapi and three days pleasure trek to Drass via Umballa. Famous for nearby Bamiyan Type Rock statue. Evening return back to Kargil Dinner overnight Kargil

Day 5: Kargil/Leh (BD)

Early morning drive to Leh via Namika-la (3718 Mts), Bodhkharbu, Fotu-la (4107 Mts) highest point on Srinagar - Leh road, Lamayuru, Khalsi, Sospal and Nemo ( conflux of river Sind and Zanskar), distance of about 230 kms will be covered in 10 hrs. Pack lunch will be carried from Kargil. On arrival in Leh transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight stay

Day 6: Leh / Pangong Tso (154Kms/5hrs drive each way) (BD)

Drive upstream along the Right Bank of the Indus River via Shey, Thiksey and Karu. Turn left towards Chemdey Gompa and continue along the steep roadside towards Chang La (17,350 ft.). Permits have to be verified at Zingrul travelling check point (TCP) (13,500 ft.), 12 kms short of the pass. There is a temple at the top of the Chang La and lots of prayer flags. The road on the descent is in bad condition till the next TCP at Tsoltakh. The first village is Durbuk followed by Thangse, both big army stations. From here to Lukung is a 32 kms drive along a rough dirty track through spectacular Barren Mountain scenery, which takes about 2 hrs. Pass through Tak – Tak, a two house the Chakartale TSO between the Muglib and Lukung there are many flat green stretches of land with clean streams ideal of compositions. The Pangong Lake (which means hollow) is very long narrow spread of water situated at an altitude of 14,500 ft. Extending from east to west through the whole length of the Ruthong region of Tibet to neighborhood of Chisul, it bends to the north west for about 25 miles and forms a boundary between Ladakh and Ruthong. Only a quarter of the Lake lies in India, the rest stretching into Ruthong. Rare black necked cranes and other migratory birds are seen here. The water of the lake is salty. Day 7: Pangong Tso/Nubra (BD)

After breakfast drive to Nubra. Distance of 240 kms will be covered in about 5-6 hrs. Later visit Diskit monastery to witness the morning prayer ceremony. It takes about 45 minutes to reach the monastery through a long scattered chortens. The Gompa is one of the highest points near the village belonging to the yellow sect (Gelugpa). Parts of the gompa, which houses 120 resident monks, are about 700 years old. The Dukhang has many statues, one of which holds the head and left arm of Turkish invader believed to be about 5000 years old. Afternoon drive 7 kms to visit Hunder Gompa, This is a small gompa belonging to the yellow sect. It is set amidst innumerable chortens and has a huge impressive statue of Chamba in the main prayer hall. The Gompa was built at the time when King Namgyal came here with his wife Gyal Khatun. Drive back to Leh. Also enjoy ATV ride. Dinner overnight in Nubra

Day 8: Nubra/Leh (BD)

After breakfast drive back to Leh via Khardung-la Pass (5750 Mts.). Distance of 160 kms will be covered in about 4-5 hrs. On arrival in Leh, transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Rest of the day free of individual activities

Day 9: Departure

After breakfast, transfer to airport to catch Onwards Flight
